The National Center for Appropriate Technology is hiring an Executive Director to lead the organization’s national work in sustainable agriculture, energy efficiency, and rural development. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee programmatic, administrative, and financial operations while guiding the organization’s long term strategy and growth.
You will lead senior leadership in implementing NCAT’s mission driven initiatives, expand funding from government and foundation sources, and strengthen partnerships with national and regional stakeholders. The role includes overseeing a $15 million annual budget, managing a staff of nearly 60 across 14 states, and advancing projects that reduce poverty, support healthy communities, and protect natural resources.
Candidates must hold either a master’s degree with at least 10 years of nonprofit management experience or a bachelor’s degree with 15 years of nonprofit program and organizational leadership experience. Experience managing large government or foundation funded projects is required, with preference for candidates with backgrounds in sustainable agriculture, energy, or rural development.
Salary range: $135,000 to $170,000.
