Fullwell is seeking a Senior Policy Associate to support its advocacy work on food policy, public health, and sustainable food systems in California. The role focuses on advancing policies that reduce hunger, improve health outcomes, and strengthen sustainable food procurement through local and state policy campaigns. The Senior Policy Associate will work closely with policymakers, public agencies, coalition partners, and advocacy organizations to advance initiatives related to medically supportive food and nutrition becoming a permanent Medi-Cal benefit and expanding values-based food procurement at public institutions.
Responsibilities include coordinating coalitions, engaging legislators and agency staff, conducting policy research, drafting policy briefs and fact sheets, and supporting advocacy campaigns across California. The role also supports the Executive Director and Deputy Director in developing new initiatives and strengthening partnerships with advocacy organizations and government stakeholders.
Candidates should have at least five years of experience in policy advocacy or coalition-based campaigns, strong research and communication skills, and familiarity with food systems, public health, or food access issues. The position is based in Northern California with a hybrid work model serving the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento.
Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000.
