The International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group, is seeking an Investment Officer to support private sector investment and advisory work in Southern Africa. Based in Luanda, this role focuses on developing and executing investment opportunities across sectors including agribusiness, manufacturing, retail, health, education, tourism, and property.
You will identify and develop investment opportunities, conduct market and sector analysis, and structure commercially viable investment solutions that support economic growth and development goals. The role includes working with private sector clients, government agencies, and development partners to address regulatory and market barriers, while building a pipeline of bankable projects through early stage project development and advisory support.
Responsibilities include structuring and negotiating investment transactions, providing advisory services to strengthen project viability, monitoring project performance against financial and development objectives, and collaborating with World Bank Group colleagues on initiatives that improve the investment climate in target markets. You will also contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services department.
Candidates must hold a master’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, public policy, or a related field and have at least five years of experience in investment, advisory services, or project development. Experience in emerging markets and strong financial analysis skills are required. Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
